Silk features in the new Calvin Klein range. The new ck Calvin Klein range for men and women is filling the gap between 'collection' and 'better' collection aimed at the Asian market (apart from Japan). This collection is made & shown in Italy, with clothes that are wearable (often overlooked by designers) and at a reasonable cost.
The colours of this new collection include cool greys, slate, nude, white and black, with occasional bursts of indigo and poppy red for the ck woman and deep green for the ck man. The women's clothes are puffy and voluminous, with platform sandals, while the men's are figure showing and slim with flat patent sandals.
The women's range is for the unconventional, modern but sophisticated lady, with taffeta and silk clothes with a gentle feminine touch, sculpted shapes, geometric seaming and graphic pleating. The clothes seem simple but well cut, and, whereas the previous voluminous range was difficult to wear, these clothes look wearable and lovely as the silk softly 'floats'. A key look for Spring 2007 is swingy silk A-line dresses and silky indigo separates.
